Delete your Joulely account & data

You can delete your Joulely account, and everything we hold about you, at any time — yourself, in a few taps. It’s immediate and permanent, and we keep no copy.

How to delete your account

  1. In the app or on the website, sign in with your email (magic link) or your password.
  2. Open your Account page — go to joulely.co.uk/account (in the app, the Account tab).
  3. Tap “Delete account” and confirm on the next screen. That’s it — your account and data are removed straight away.

Can’t sign in? Email support@joulely.co.uk from your registered address and we’ll delete your account for you.

What gets deleted

  • Your account record — your email, any name and postcode you added, and your password hash if you set one.
  • Your meter connection — the provider, MPAN/MPRN, resource id, and the encrypted read-only data token, plus the energy-usage readings we fetched.
  • Any home bill figures you entered (e.g. broadband, mobile or insurance amounts) and your device push token if you turned notifications on.

All of the above is hard-deleted immediately when you confirm — there is no retained copy and no additional retention period for your personal data.

What we keep

  • Anonymised, aggregate usage stats (roughly which pages get visited) that are not tied to you and cannot be linked back to you — these are retained to run and improve the service.
  • Minimal records we’re legally required to keep (for example, if you ever contacted support) are kept only for as long as the law requires, then deleted.
